My Review
Sun, Sand and Sex. Those three words perfectly describe The Scene by Roxy Sloane. Set in the high society scene of Miami we meet Nikki & Xavier. It's a chance meeting between two and they soon discover they have more in common than their physical attraction.
Nikki has relocated to Miami to find out what's happened to her brother. He unfortunately had a tragic accident and she doesn't believe what the police and other people are claiming happened to him. So she sets out to play detective to find out the real story. Enter Xavier, your quintessential billionaire bachelor. He's hot, loaded, with a never ending sex drive all wrapped in this chivalrous, sexy man. Seriously, he's THE package. Where can I get one of these??!
As I read each Novella, I was convinced that Xavier was more than meets the eye. This is the genius of Ms. Sloane! She kept me guessing throughout each book and just when I thought I had it figured out she throws in this plot twist that seriously had me whipping my head so fast I thought I may have given myself whiplash. It was awesome! And a great way to end this serial series.
The character development was evident despite the pace and shortness of each book. The plot is well developed which provided a steady & solid pace for the crescendo. And let me tell you, once you've come down from the high of the story, you will be left feeling satisfied. I was.
The Scene gave me everything I enjoy reading in a book. Romance, Depth, Character development and clear, solid writing.
